Plank Challenge 2018

Kristina at work asked Rachel, Tina and myself to do a 30 day Plank challenge with her so we can hold each other accountable.  I told her yes, even though I cannot plank at all.....not for long any ways.

This is not a pretty picture AT ALL, but I was trying to do a plank today.  I managed 7 whole seconds.  I guess it is like riding a bull in the rodeo (Ha!!!).  I gotta "get it together".

I call my belly fat my "apron", my friend said an apron is better than a "skirt"......(OOOOOooooo weeeeee!!!!!).

I did walk 2.2 miles this morning.  It was cold.  I did not try to run any of it because I am so out of shape, and my pace was 19.11 minute mile.  Awful, but at least I got up and got out of this house.

I have done it before and I will do it again.

UPDATE Jan 8, 2018 - Day 8 of the Plank challenge - not bad!!! Now just gotta breathe.

Weight Watchers Reality Check

So...........today is the day that I hope NO ONE reads my blog, but I have got to face the music.  I had had alot of success on weight watchers in 2016 and gotten down to a really good place.  I was so close to the 75 pound star that I could taste it, and so close to the goal that my physician had set for me.  I just knew I could do it.  I felt that I had it figured out.  Ever since February of this year, I have just not focused, I have not tracked,  not measured, not shopped and prepped and cooked like I had, not made the best choices in restaurants, not exercised like I should and have gained back some weight.....quite a lot of weight really.  It was not until today that I really allowed myself to see just how fast it comes back on.  I stood at the scale at the Wolfchase WW and cried today for the first time.  I have come too far to turn back now.

I have got to commit to getting on the program because we are going on our 25th anniversary cruise in March and I have got to be able to fit into my swim suit.

It is out of control............I am out of control.

I loved the marble jars that I had.  Once I started gaining, I did not do the marbles any more.  I kept lying to myself saying I won't get over 190, I won't get over 200, I won't get over 210.  But it is so close to that now.  I guess I am going to have to get those out and put quite a few marbles back and lose those marbles all over again.  It will probably be even harder to lose the second time, but I am going to try.
(74.6 was my weight watchers official weightloss in February 2017....this is today)

Hopefully 2018 will be the year that I reach my goal.

Christmas Day 2017

It was sweet to see Uncle Porgy, Janice, Charlie Boy, David Gentry, along with the Memphis bunch.  We missed Sarah and the boys.

 The Gentry cousins
Katie, Charlie Boy and Rhonda (don't mind me, I am looking a hot mess....I gotta do something to my hair.... but Charlie Boy said I look more and more like my momma every day)
Time to settle down for a long winter's nap

Austin made a GLUTEN FREE blueberry, chocolate chip bread pudding....Yumm!
Annabeth said it is not Christmas until you watch the Walton's Christmas movie.  It was so sweet.  I love when Elizabeth said she is going to have puppies when she grows up.  And when Mary Ellen calls them all Piss ants.................ha!!!! and when the Baldwin sisters take John Boy on a sleigh ride looking for his daddy.  It was a sweet night.

Christmas 2017

Noah and Hunter spent Christmas with Aunt Libby, Uncle Herbie and Parker this year.  We sure did miss them.

Dallas went out of town to Paris  TN for Christmas, we missed him too.

They sure are loud, but we missed having Christmas through a child's eyes.

Christmas Eve 2017

This was Daddy and Grand Marilyn's Christmas tree (although I doubt she had much to do with it)

Daddy got creative with the wrapping paper too...........see cartoon below.  Daddy LOVES Pickles...he is EARL.

Rhonda got this for Lexi.
We went to Faith on Christmas Eve night with Daddy and Marilyn.  It was a sweet time.  I love a candlelight service.
Even though they are grown, I still love this part.

Our Hot Date

We were not babysitting or singing the Saturday before Christmas so we went on a "hot date".  We went to Belly Acres on the square and got a gluten free hamburger.  It was yummy.
This was on the square

This is a gingerbread house at the Peabody Hotel.
 That's alot of gingerbread
Dwayne took me on the carriage ride through downtown to the City Christmas Tree.
I felt like we were in our very own Hallmark Christmas Movie
 Our horse's name was Joy
I said I wonder how many Christmas trees we will get our picture made in front of tonight.  Dwayne replied "It looks like ALL of them!!!"

It was cold on the carriage ride.

We even stopped at Bass Pro to see Santa.  Dwayne is not a hunter of fisherman, he does not camp, nor need a boat, four wheeler or stink bait.  We purely went to say we had been there and to see Santa.

Gingerbread House 2017

Annabeth made a gingerbread house just like she did back in 2009 when Grandmomma was so sick.  Glenda had bought it for her to do back then so she could just be a normal little girl during a very dark time in our lives.  She loved it, Grandmomma loved watching her do it and we made another one this year.  Thanks to Rhonda for getting the kit for her.

Miracle on 34th Street

Rhonda took me, Austin and Annabeth to the Orpheum to see the old movie Miracle on 34th Street.  It was so good and really reminded us of Momma.  It was her favorite Christmas movie.  That little Natalie Wood was throwing some shade at Santa....ha!!!!

It was sweet for us to get to remember momma as we approached the 8th year anniversary of her death.  I can't believe it has been so long, sometimes it feels like only yesterday and sometimes it feels like forever.

Bellevue's Christmas Tree

It is a family tradition for us to go to Bellevue's Singing Christmas Tree. Once again Noah got to see JJ the donkey.
Hunter got to spend some one on one time with Rhonda doing Christmas crafts.  The rest of us went to Bellevue.  It is a wonderful story each year.

Codependent No More

Rachel sent this to me.  I need to be reminded of this daily.  Codependency is something that I struggle with on a daily basis.  It is all about surrender for me.  Surrender to my will and get out of the way so that God can do the work.  Rachel is a dear friend and she "gets" me.

St Jude 10K - 2017

Once again, several of us from work and Janet from Kentucky came down and we ran/walked the St. Jude marathon weekend 10K.  We met at the Peabody before the race.  The Christmas decorations were all out.  It was neat.
This sign made me think of my sweet Nathan...........gone too soon.
I love these markers painted on the pavement.
I was TIRED!!!!  I weighed more than last year and I was not as prepared as last year.
