Holly Wagner - "Prayer"

This week I have really tried to focus on prayer.  Yesterday, as I was scrolling on Twitter, I saw a post from Phillip and Holly Wagner from Oasis Church in L.A.  I saw them once at a marriage seminar at the Life  Church.  Dwayne is singing with Servant's Heart Quartet out of town this weekend.  So I looked to see if, by chance, she was near here, and by George, she was at the Life Church this morning, so I felt like I needed to go hear her this morning.  I am so glad I did.

The message today was from Philippians 1:6 - that He BEGAN a good work in me (that means HE is not finished with me yet) and He WILL finish it - He can do it (I just need to cooperate with Him).

The video below is a message about Prayer.....the best way to get an answer to prayer is to PRAY. . . . . . . . Just do it!!  (Take Note - at 22:45, she talks about asking forgiveness and then leave it there, don't let the enemy try to make you think that you are really not forgiven.  God says he forgave you....he meant it).

God Be With You Till We Meet Again

I miss you momma.............till we meet again.

Cartoon Song by Chris Rice

Love the Cartoon Song by Chris Rice - great song during the early 90's.

I love the way you love me.

I love him more than words can say.

Butter Cake ....YUMMY!!!

With the new season of the Cake Boss on TV, I have been watching too many cake shows and craving wedding cake..........it is my absolute favorite!!!!

Noah, Hunter and Dallas were staying over last night and I decided to make a cake.  I googled how to make a cake taste more like a bakery cake, soooooo..............

CAKE
1 Duncan Hines white cake mix
substituted milk instead of water
instead of oil, I used real butter and used 1.5 times what was called for
I added 2 extra egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
Baked as directed.

BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
6 cups of confectioners sugar
4 sticks of butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp milk
whipped it on high until fluffy

I used square cake pans and cut each layer in half because I LOVE buttercream.  I made the filling between the layers too thick, and did not have enough to really frost the sides very nicely.  It tasted good, but - even for me who loves buttercream - it was WAY too much frosting.

The cake was yummy though.

War Room - I went to see it again

I went to see the movie again.............I am definitely doing this. The movie War Room was compelling and truly inspiring.  So much so, that I am going to clean out a closet and make a war room of my very own.  It is time I gave my prayer life my full attention.  It is something that I have felt that I needed for a long time - since going to a ladies' bible study and one of the ladies had a space for her quiet time.  I just don't "feel like" I have the space or time.  I am so distracted with all of the "thing" that I have to do.  Ever since seeing the movie the first time, I have really prayed about how to have a better prayer life.  This is something I will do.  . He is with me all of the time.

Just Playing

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Alabama Crimson Tide 2015

Today is the day...........Ole Miss will take on Alabama on the road.  Bama has the home field advantage and will be seeking revenge for last year.  Dwayne is so excited!!!  He cannot wait.

This was at the beach the day after Ole Miss beat Alabama last year.

Update - Ole Miss won.............it was the longest game in the history of my lifetime.

Crabb Family Reunion - February 2016

We got our tickets for Dwayne, Sarah and myself to see the Crabb Family Reunion tour in February.  We have loved the Crabb family for years....since they, and Sarah were very young.  One of our favorite songs was "Through the Fire".....what a great message.  Can't wait to share this with Sarah again.

Nothing like that family harmony

I look a hot mess, but I love that Sarah was so happy.

Jason Crabb is so sweet and kind to everyone who stands in line to talk to him.  He seems genuine.

Hotty Toddy

As you know, I become a Football Widow about this time of year each year.  Dwayne loves nothing more on a fall day than football and southern gospel music.  He is an Ole Miss Rebel through and through.  He is also a Dallas Cowboy to the bone.  He is not a fair weather fan of either, he roots for them when it seems no one else does.

We have got an Ole Miss room in our house.  I try so hard to support his love for the game.....even enduring it on TV for 12-14 hours on Saturday and 8-10 hours on Sunday.  This is the only time of the year that he is glued to the TV.

I try to embrace the game.  I try to learn what they are doing.  I love to watch him watch Ole Miss or the Cowboys on TV.  He gets so excited, so happy, so mad, so disappointed.  And for someone who is so quiet all of the time, THIS is the time that he talks.....to me, to the TV, to anyone who will listen.  He just loves Football.

This is the time of the year that he lets his Joe Creel show through.  If Ole Miss wins, he will very subtley (is that even a word???) wear Red and Blue and maybe an Ole Miss tie to church....ha!

We always go to two or three games each season.  I, of course, like to go to games with non-SEC teams.....the reason is two-fold.....the tickets are cheaper.....in hopes that we can spread out in the stadium and also because I love for them to score and hear the cannon and shout the Hotty Toddy cheer.  Dwayne always wants to go to an SEC game or two because the closer the game it is, the more exciting the game is.  Its good if they win, but if they lose, it is a LONG ride home from Oxford.

I have made some yard art before, so this year, I made a football for the front yard.  It turned out kind of cute....very whimsical, not really artistic, just a cutesy, free-hand football.

Sooooo..............if you are looking for us on a Saturday or Sunday between now and oh, let's say Thanksgiving, unless Servant's Heart Quartet is singing somewhere, you can probably find us at home in front of the TV or in the Grove.

Dallas is becoming so animated, he is awake alot more during the day and FINALLY sleeps a few hours at night.  His mommy is very thankful.  As you can see, he is becoming quite THICK.  He will smile and coo and we just love it.  Such a sweet boy!

Trammel Family Reunion 2015

This is from our Trammel Family Reunion at Uncle Garland's in years past....they have now all gone on before us.  We miss them, but their legacy lives on.

The Trammel Reunion of 2015 was held at Porgy and Janice's house at Enid Lake, MS.  Although we were few in number today, I think our elders  were proud that our extended family still loves one another and made an attempt to get together again.  The reality is that with each of us growing older, it is nice to get together for a fun, happy occasion.

LtoR:  George, Janice, Howard, Kathy, Dwayne, Kay, Glenda, Terry, Rhonda, Vickie, Dony

The more I look at this picture, the more I think I look like Uncle Porgy.....especially across the eyes.  Funny how family genetics works like that, huh???

this was a windchime that I think momma got for Porgy years back!!!

There were plenty that were not able to be there, but we had lots of laughs and memories of times past with our Trammel Family.  We missed you all
Of course, who was there in spirit and on our hearts was Jackie and Charlie.  We were so sorry she was not feeling well.  They even had the hotel in Batesville reserved.....so close.  We are so sorry you got sick,.  Take care of yourself and know that we love you, we laughed about old stories including you and we missed your smile and laugh.  We are sorry the phone calls kept dropping.

Thankful for technology, we were able to Face Time with Howard's son, Chris from Brazil.
