Happy Fall Y'all

I bet my sister would have given me away for free too when we were little.

Wonder how long it took him to throw that rock?

Look at how blue his eyes are.

Great Movie - "Grace Unplugged"

Sarah and I went to see the movie "Grace Unplugged" tonight.  What a great story of love and forgiveness.
I would highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to teens and parents of teenagers.

Heart of Worship

We sang this song today at LFBC.  It is so wonderful how a song can really speak to my heart.  It really is all about HIM.

Taming the Bull - the John Bramlett Story

This is the movie trailer from the film that we saw tonight.  What a beautiful story of Christ's love and redemption.  It was funny, he said he was reading the bible and got to John 3:16.  He said not many preachers preach a message on that verse, but every criminal in prison knows that verse.  He said as he read "For God so loved the world that He gave His only son that WHOSOEVER believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life".  He said that whosoever is ME.  Christ died for even me.  Wow!!

All Heaven Declares

We sang this in the choir tonight.  Such beautiful, simple harmony.

computers.....UGHHH!!!!!

Got home from work last night ready to sit down and pay a few bills, and the computer was dead and I mean D-E-A-D, dead!!!  I tried and tried to get it to boot up and there was no power.  We had some bad storms come through and terrible lightening and I guess it just zapped my computer.  Now I wish I had actually learned how to back up.

What did we do before we had all of this technology?  Cell phones, internet, computers, paperless bills, online bill paying, cable TV.  I was asking my dad this very thing and he said we got out a card table, the check book, an old timey adding machine, a pen, a sharp pencil (with a good eraser), some stamps and started paying bills.

I don't even know what kind of computer to look at buying.  None of it makes sense to me.  How big is big enough, how fast is fast enough, ughhh!!!

MedFest 2014

I have been considering going on a short mission trip for some time now.  I really feel like it would be so fulfilling to me personally as well as spiritually.  We get so caught up in this world and the amenities of life.  We take so much for granted....air conditioning, diet coke, ice, a nice clean bed, good quality medical care, a nice church to worship in whenever we feel like going to church.  I want to serve - even for just a few days - in a place that is underserved.  I think it would be such a blessing.  I have been invited to go to Nicaragua to the MedFest sponsored by Way of the Cross Ministiries.
It is in January 2014, and there is a cost involved, but I am willing to pay for a vacation, why not be willing to give back to God what is already His in order to serve others.

Our friends, the Damron's and Edmiston's are involved in this ministry.  Giles has gone with a dental team for years and years.  Cliff has gone the last few years with the construction team.  Of course Giles said there would always be a place for me in the medical tents.  They are taking dentists, pharmacists, surgeons, an OB-GYN, and others.  He said I could accept a job that was as "gross" or as "not gross" as I wanted.....I am leaning towards "not gross"...Ha!!!  He even said that if I did not want to do something medical that was cool too, there are many children there and so many activities that you can do with the kids, really just loving on them.

I had to Google where Nicaragua even was at......geography was never really my strong suit. So now I know, I have heard of all of those places....Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.  Now I know where it is located.

I have until October the 1st to make a decision and get my deposit in.  If you think about it, pray for me that I have be at peace with whatever decision that I make and that if I do feel led to go, that some support will come to help with the expenses involved with traveling there.

My whole life I have been taught about the Great Commission of Jesus, I know that we can do that right here in our back yard, and we should, but THIS is what I have always thought of when I think about fulfilling the Great Commission........GO and TELL.

Hotty Toddy

Dwayne takes alot of teasing about Ole Miss.  He has been a fan since he was a boy and just like with the Dallas Cowboys, he has not wavered even when they are not winning.  But.......they won their season opener the other night, so I wanted to put up a post in honor of them being undefeated.

I just bought us tickets to see Ole Miss play the Arkansas Razorbacks in November.....at least they will be in Oxford, so will have the home field advantage.  I just hope it is not a LONG RIDE HOME....if you know what I mean.

I love you Dwayne and you know that I will walk up in The Grove with you any time and sit in those stands and cheer right along with you......as long as you buy me a diet coke and some popcorn.
