Movie Night with Noah and Hunter

Don't mind Skipper, he has been digging in the mud out behind the pool.  There is so much yard work to do for one little "inside dog"..............ughh!!!!  I had to give him a bath.

I might be biased, but he sure is a sweet boy.

Our little Mexican Wrestling fans

Dwayne is teaching Noah and Hunter the finer points of wrestling.......especially videos of Mexican Wrestlers - why???????

Hunter..............they eye holes are a little too far apart for a little boy.

Noah is wrestling with his glasses on.

Dwayne bought these masks when we were on our cruise with Kevin and Karen.  Kevin and Dwayne shopped all over Cozumel trying on masks to find just the perfect one.  Notice that one of his is a Dallas Cowboys mask??? Of course it is.

The difference between Mimi and Peepaw

This really did happen.  Dwayne was gone to a Men's conference and I had the boys.  We were having a quiet night at home, we had played some games, eaten dinner and were watching a movie.  Austin came in and could not believe how good they were being and he said just wait until Daddy comes home.  As soon as the garage door opened, Skipper started barking and the boys jumped off the couch, ran to get toys and jumped and screamed, kicked balls and threw stuff as he was coming in the door.  I am exhausted just thinking about it.

I am gonna be a Mimi again

Sarah is having a third little baby boy.

yep, it's a boy!

My Sister

Praying that she can find peace in her life once and for all.  This was a little painting she did for me a few years back.  I hope she is able to get back to a good place.  It has been my life long prayer for her to have joy and peace in her life.

MedFest 2015

These are some photos and a song that I put together from our trip to Nicaragua.  What a blessing to be able to serve in a little village outside of Masaya.  I met such sweet and gracious people.  It really changes your perspective.

If you are thinking about going on a short term mission trip, please go.  This is a wonderful trip.  See the video below and see what you can do to help.  Just loving on the kids is enough.

Mary Jo...........with eyes rolling............"Hello!"

Saying a very special prayer tonight for our friend Mary Jo.  She is losing her battle with cancer and have called the family in.  Austin and I went by there to see her, and even though she struggled with every breath, Mary Jo, in her true Southern Lady style, attempted to introduce us to each and everyone in the room.  Classic...........and as she always says (and does) with eyes rolling says "Hello"!!!

This is Austin singing The Rose to Mary Jo at sweetpeas right after she found out she had cancer.  It was precious and made me very proud.  They have a very special friendship.

She loved to sing Patsy Cline's songs....here she is singing "Crazy"

MedFest 2015

MedFest 2015 is fast approaching.  I have already started taking my anti-malarial medications, so that means I leave within the next 2 weeks.  I am starting to get nervous, not about the work so much as the fear of getting sick.  It seems that so many people have the flu - even ones that have had the flu shot, and also the stomach bug....yuk!!!  That is what I do not want to happen.

Anyway, I was sitting her having myself a little pity party about stuff that was totally unrelated, so I decided to make myself feel alot better by paying some bills on this fine Friday night.  As I was sitting her, my Facebook dinged.

I had a message from Jeyling, the interpreter that I used the first 2 days of Medfest last year.  We have remained Facebook friends and I have enjoyed seeing pictures of other mission trips that she has worked for throughout the year.

She said she got the call to come interpret for MedFest again this year.  They asked if she had anyone in mind that she would like to work alongside.  She asked if she could work with me again.  Isn't that the sweetest thing....what a blessing to be with this sweet girl again.  She was so kind and gentle and I enjoyed every minute working with her.

Please continue to pray for me and my team, and also Jeyling as we prepare our hearts for the work that we will be doing.  Also pray for the Nicaraguan people, that their hearts may be prepared to hear the gospel.

sad

Did you ever have one of those days when you just can't seem to do anything right?  Go in to work early and work hard all day, then come home and try to make a nice dinner and then the phone rings, no matter how much I say, how much I try, how many times I answer the phone "just one more time", it is never enough.  It is never going to be enough.  When am I ever going to learn? I had hoped for so much more for this relationship with her, but I am just not sure I am strong enough to ever make it work.  Alcohol is a strong and powerful thing, it has a tight grip.  AA calls it "cunning and baffling"....ain't that the truth.  ALANON calls what I do....the trying to fix it and for me personally, continuing to answer the phone "insanity".....the act of doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different outcome.  I really hate myself when this cycle begins and I cannot break it, no matter how hard I try.  When will I just accept it?
