"Somewhere in the Middle" - by Casting Crowns

"Do I have deep water faith in the shallow end??"

Frontman Mark Hall wrote the lyrics for this song after a disheartening afternoon of reading through the MySpace pages of the kids in his church youth group. Prompted to go there by a student, Hall was upset that the messages they wrote didn't gel with the teachings they were getting at church. The Casting Crowns explained on his record label's website: "Seeing the antithesis of what was being proclaimed at church and what was really going on with my kids didn't make me angry or frustrated. It just made me hurt for them and how stuck out there they feel and how they don't know what else to do but to try to fit in. It wasn't just about them. The end result in that lyric is my own lament that I could have a greater friendship with God, but I don't… It's the frustration of my own life. Why in the world do I have to force myself to spend time with God. If I had an everyday friendship with Jesus, I'd be a better encourager, I'd be a better forgiver, and I wouldn't be as selfish as I am. God has blessed me with amazing self-awareness, a firm grasp of the obvious, but I don't always 'get' it."

Noah's ORANGE Cast

Noah was ready to have the camo cast removed, complete with his Dumdum sucker and earphones on.
He chose orange because it was Peepaw's favorite color.....not TN Vol orange, but Diet Sunkist "Coke" orange.

Happy Birthday to ME......James Taylor

I am so excited.  We are going to see James Taylor this summer for my birthday in Little Rock.

This is my favorite J.T. song, ever.  I love the guitar playing in this song.

One Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed, One Fell Off and..........................Broke His Arm

I remember singing that song as a child......well something like that version of the song.  Poor little Noah.  Those boys keep Sarah running all of the time.

We are taking Annabeth to a Hematologist

Annabeth has been anemic for several years.  They have been watching her blood count very closely.  The pediatrician did a big work up on her and the preliminary test results showed that she has von Willebrand Disease.  It is a form of hemophelia that girls can get.

They have referred us to St. Jude.  Just hearing that name scares the mess out of me, but in my intellectual mind, I know that that is where the HEMATOLOGY/oncology doctors work.  They are the best at what they do.

Praying that Annabeth's nerves will be calm, praying for answers, believing that God will carry us through this process.

UPDATE:

All is well with Annabeth, her labs so far have been all negative.  The other testing that they did showed her at low risk for a bleeding disorder so we don't have to go back to St. Jude.  She will follow up with her Gynecologist with hormones to help regulate her cycle so she will not be so anemic.

Thanks for the prayers.  God is good.....all of the time.
